Cabinet Refacing

New doors, drawer fronts and veneer over your existing cabinet boxes for a fresh look without a full tear-out.

If your cabinet boxes are solid and the layout works, refacing can transform the kitchen without the cost and disruption of a full replacement. The old doors and drawer fronts come off, the visible frames are covered with veneer or laminate, and new doors, drawer fronts and hardware complete the look. For many Nashville homeowners with sturdy cabinets from the 1990s or 2000s, refacing delivers a dramatic change in a fraction of the time.

We start by checking that your cabinets are good candidates: boxes square and sound, no serious water damage, and a layout you are happy with. Then you choose door style, finish and hardware, and we measure every opening. New fronts are made to order and installed, and exposed frames and sides are covered to match. You can add soft-close hinges, new drawer boxes or a few extra cabinets while we are at it. Most of the kitchen stays usable throughout.

Questions

Cabinet Refacing FAQ

Is refacing right for my kitchen?

It works best when the cabinet boxes are in good shape and you like the layout.

How is it different from painting?

Refacing replaces doors and drawer fronts and can change the style. Painting keeps what you have and changes the color.

How long does it take?

Often much less time than a full replacement, depending on the size of the kitchen.

Can I change the layout?

Refacing keeps the existing boxes, so layout changes mean adding or replacing some cabinets.

Will the countertop need to change?

Not necessarily. Many homeowners reface and keep their counters, or update them separately.
